RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Railway Hospital is set to undergo major restructuring and will be converted into a 500-bed modern medical centre to better serve the public.
The decision was made at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi to discuss the upgradation of Rawalpindi Railway Hospital
Addressing the meeting, Hanif Abbasi said that the welfare of railway employees is his top priority, and providing them with quality and comprehensive healthcare comes first.
He stated that the hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and modern medical facilities, with all diagnostic tests and treatment services available within the premises.
The minister added that following the upgradation, the hospital will have the capacity to treat 5,000 patients daily, while railway employees and their families will receive complete medical coverage.
He further noted that the development of the hospital is part of the Railways Department’s social responsibility, and the initiative will benefit not just employees but the general public as well.
