The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder and lightning on Sunday as cloudy weather conditions prevailed in Karachi on Saturday.

According to the Met Office, most parts of Karachi remained cloudy throughout the day, increasing the chances of rainfall. Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely to hit the city on Sunday.

Weather experts say strong monsoon currents are continuously entering Sindh, bringing rainfall to several parts of the province including Karachi.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Ghotki, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, and Larkana.

In Qambar Shahdadkot, intermittent rainfall is likely, while Jamshoro district may receive light to moderate rain by tomorrow.

The Met Department has also warned of urban flooding in low-lying rural areas due to heavy rainfall in interior Sindh.

It further cautioned that in case of intense weather, fragile structures, mud houses, electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels may be damaged.
