LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday granted a five-day remand of Sher Shah Khan, nephew of PTI founder Imran Khan and son of Aleema Khan.
Sher Shah Khan was arrested on Friday, after the arrest of his brother Shahraz Khan in the May 9 cases.
During the hearing on the remand request before Judge Manzar Ali Gul of the ATC, the prosecution argued for a 30 day remand. The prosecution argued that the accused was present at the crime scene where weapons were used.
Second son of Aleema Khan also arrested
Video evidence also confirmed his presence. His social media accounts need to be recovered, so a 30-day physical remand should be granted.
Lawyer Salman Akram Raja said Sher Shah was arrested after 27 months, which is illegal. He appeared in court yesterday with his brother and was arrested there.
The investigating officer told the court that the accused has been identified in the Jinnah House attack video. A 30-day remand is needed for photogrammetric and polygraphic tests. The court reserved its verdict after hearing the arguments.
MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES TOLD TO LEAVE COURTROOM
Earlier at the start of the hearing, the judge ordered media representatives to leave the courtroom.
The judge directed that no media representative should bring a mobile phone next time, only a notebook and pen.
Earlier on Friday, the Anti-Terrorism Court has granted police an eight day remand of Shahrez Khan, nephew of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Shahrez Khan was brought to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday in connection with the May 9 cases.
Shahrez Khan, son of Aleema Khan, sister of Imran Khan, was arrested on Thursday night from his residence in Lahore in connection with the May 9 cases.
Police informed the court that Shahrez Azim, nephew of the PTI founder, was arrested in the May 9 Jinnah House attack case after being named in a supplementary statement.
