Six people were burnt alive when a passenger bus caught fire at the Western Bypass in Quetta on Tuesday.
According to Rescue sources, a passenger bus caught fire burning alive six people and causing severe burn injuries to seven others at the Western Bypass in Quetta.
The injured passengers and the bodies have been transported to a nearby hospital. Some of the injured are said to be in serious condition. There are fears that the death toll may rise.
Unhealthy air quality persists in Islamabad
Police have reached the site of the incident and have started investigations into how the van caught fire.
Balochistan government spokesperson confirmed the fatalities and expressed deep sorrow over the incident. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims,” the spokesperson said.
Balochistan Information Minister Shahid Rind expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed authorities to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
The provincial government has vowed strict action against those found responsible. “We will ensure that the affected families are fully supported and assisted in every possible way,” the spokesperson added.
