ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested the suspected killers in the high-profile murder case of Sardar Faheem, a noted author and national security trainer.
Sardar Faheem, the son of a retired brigadier and a member of a government think tank on national security and strategy, was found murdered at his residence in Sector G-6/4 near Covered Market on June 25.
As per the FIR, his wife found him bound and critically injured upon returning home. Rescue 1122 shifted him to Polyclinic Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Initial findings suggest he was killed with a sharp-edged weapon.
On Tuesday, in a joint presser Minister of State Talal Chaudhry and Islamabad IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi shared key details of the Sardar Faheem murder case and relayed that the suspected killers of Sardar Faheem have been arrested.
Talal Chaudhry said, the murder of Sardar Faheem was a “test case” for Islamabad Police, which they successfully solved in six days.
“Protecting the lives and property of citizens is the government’s top priority, and all available resources are being used to reduce crime. Islamabad Police have swiftly solved several murder cases.”
“In another case, the suspects involved in the murder of a 17-year-old girl were arrested within 24 hours,” he added.
IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi said, “Sardar Faheem’s body was found in his house, and his belongings were scattered. The incident occurred on the night of June 25. Immediately after the incident, 11 police teams were formed, five of which were led by the SSP Operations.”
He further revealed, “57 individuals were interrogated in connection with the murder. During the investigation, suspects were arrested from Gujranwala and Chiniot. Valuable information was also gathered from Adiala, Camp, and Kot Lakhpat jails.”
The IG added that “Sardar Faheem was brutally murdered during a robbery. However, police considered all angles during the investigation and brought the case to a logical conclusion.”
Talal Chaudhry stated that the crime rate in Islamabad has dropped by 37 per cent and that police are working diligently day and night to ensure the safety of citizens.
